Consensus Problems for High-order Lti Systems: a Decentralized Static Output Feedback Method

This paper deals with the consensus problem in multi-agent systems (MASs) with fixed and switching interaction topologies. All agents are modeled by identical linear high-order dynamical systems. Through some coordinate transformation and the augment of the output matrix, some consensus protocols are provided based on the output measurements of the adjacent agents. Sufficient conditions for consensus were presented in terms of coupled linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), the size of which will not increase according to the number of agents. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
